IREX Europe Secretary/Treasurer Helena Stohanzlova is a dedicated human rights and democracy expert with 10 years experience in international relations. Recently she became a fundraiser at Prague´s based mobile hospice Cesta domu. Before joining Cesta domu, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. At the Ministry, she contributed to establishing the national funding scheme Transition Promotion Program aimed at supporting democracy and human rights through civil society empowerment. In this position, Helena was instrumental in building partnerships between the Czech MFA, local NGOs, and the broader international civil society community. Over the years, she has gained extensive knowledge of the third sector, particularly in Belarus and in Eastern Europe.
Prior to her work for the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Helena worked in the Office of the President Vaclav Havel as an assistant to Havel´s political adviser. Helena holds a degree in Political Sciences and Translation (French/Czech) from Charles University in Prague.
